Class of 2017 - Fall Project - Tuesday's Children - $10,869
Tuesday’s Children was founded to foster long term healing in families directly impacted by the events of September 11th. Our mission today is to keep the promise to those families while serving and supporting all families affected by acts of terror worldwide. The Class of 2017 once again assembled Mepham High School's Flag Field of Honor to pay tribute to our veterans, current service men and women, 9/11 first responders and victims. 278 American and military branch flags were displayed on the front lawn of Mepham High School, generously purchased by our school community. In addition, the Class of 2017 hosted our annual Battle of the Classes: Battle for a Cause event to raise both money and awareness for Tuesday's Children. Over 700 students and staff signed up to participate in this year's event. Our students also worked with Operation Gratitude to send care packages and cards to our troops deployed overseas. |
Spring 2017 - The St. Baldrick's Foundation - $43,710
Our students once again partnered with the St. Baldrick's Foundation and hosted our annual Chop Your Locks for Charity event. Their efforts led to over $41,000 being raised to combat childhood cancer and find a cure and less harmful treatments. In addition, the Class of 2018 were named Altice Charity Champions for their work in both fundraising and gaining the participation and support of their school community for their service efforts. An additional $2,500 was presented to the students to be donated to the St. Baldrick's Foundation for their work.
